Why is there so much plastic and trash in our ocean? That is the question that everyone asks. What is the reason? What is causing this to happen? There are many articles that answer these questions. There are also many answers on why this is all happening and what we can do to prevent it. Things we can do to change this problem is when we look at the ocean with trash we should stop and pick it up, and not go on with our day and ignore it like we do with every other thing that happens on Earth.

Why is there so much garbage in our Ocean? Trash is not being purposely thrown in the ocean. We throw plastic and trash on the floor, and in the middle of the ocean water, but also the wind sweeps up the plastic bits up from the floor and pushes them to the water which traps them in what’s called the Garbage Patch. From all of the trash and plastic it can affect all of ocean life. When animals eat the garbage pieces, the toxins are released into their body and passed up on the food chain. This can also kill the animals in the ocean. This also releases a  toxic chemical which can then enter in our food which can make us sick.

What is the reason for there being so much trash and plastic? The reason why there are all these things in the ocean is because we don’t bother throwing away our  trash. When trash is being thrown on streets or in any location, the wind picks it up which ends up traveling and making its way into the ocean. Some homeless people do try to help out and try to keep the streets clean, but they would also try to recycle in order to have food in their stomachs and stay hydrated.

People should consider earth more, just because you don’t have to pick it up it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t respect the environment. Keep in mind we eat seafood and we also swim in the ocean, so we should think about these things more. Everyone has one job in this world and that is to pick up after themselves, and we all know that we weren’t raised to be fifthly.
